Sell printable worksheets and planners on Etsy
The market is flooded, and yet specific, well-designed printables for a narrow audience still sell. Teachers and therapists, not "planner lovers".
- Who pays you
- Buyers pay you a small one-time price per file through Etsy or a similar marketplace, which takes listing and transaction fees and delivers the download automatically.
- Outcomes
- 0 receipts. Nobody's reported back on this one yet. Receipts open when accounts launch.
How it works
Printables are the most saturated digital product on the internet, which is why this entry is honest about the ceiling. The version that still works is narrow and professional: worksheets for speech therapists, IEP trackers for special-education teachers, intake forms for massage therapists, chore charts for foster carers. People who need them buy several, buy again, and tell colleagues. You design a set, list each with keywords the profession actually searches, and add to the catalogue monthly.
What it actually takes
- Design skill and a layout tool. Free ones are enough.
- Real understanding of one audience's paperwork problems, ideally because you were or are one of them.
- Dozens of listings, not a few. Marketplaces reward catalogue depth.
- Keyword research in the marketplace's own search bar.
Where it goes wrong
- Generic planners. "Weekly planner, minimalist" is competing with a hundred thousand listings and a lot of free ones.
- Copying. Templates that look like the bestseller get reported and removed.
- Fees. Listing fees, transaction fees and offsite-ad fees eat a large share of a cheap product's price.
- It's pocket money. A good catalogue pays for groceries, not rent. Go in knowing that.
