Moderation policy

What gets rejected outright, what has to be disclosed, and what gets edited before it's published. Read this before submitting an idea; it filters out most bad submissions before they're written.

Rejected on sight

• Multi-level marketing, downlines, or any structure where your income depends on recruiting.
• "Pay me to teach you how to earn." Courses, coaching and communities whose product is the promise of income.
• Crypto, forex or stock signal groups, trading bots, copy-trading, and anything with a "guaranteed" return.
• Gambling, matched betting, arbitrage betting, casino bonuses.
• Adult content and services.
• Anything with a referral or sign-up requirement to participate.
• Anything that can't answer "who pays you, and for what?" in one clear sentence.

Requires disclosure

• Your own product or service, if the idea involves it.
• Affiliate relationships or commissions on anything the idea links to.
• Anything you profit from if a reader follows the idea.

Disclosed relationships are shown on the idea page. Undisclosed ones, when found, get the idea pulled and the account closed.

Edited before publishing

• Vague titles. "Flipping!" becomes "Repair and resell vintage sewing machines".
• Missing money flow. The idea is held until it states who pays, for what, through what channel.
• Unbanded income claims. Any dollar figure that isn't a band or a receipt is removed. "I made $3,000" belongs in a receipt, as a band.
• More than two outbound links. Trimmed to the two that matter.

Rejection reasons

Every rejection uses one of a fixed set of reasons, so we can measure what we're rejecting and readers can see the pattern:

• recruitment_based: earnings depend on signing up other people.
• too_vague: not a specific way to make money.
• duplicate: already in the catalog; we'll point you at it.
• unverifiable_claims: numbers with no band and no receipt.
• promotional: an advert for a product, course or service.
• off_topic: not about making money.

Receipts

One receipt per person per idea. Receipts are moderated for spam and abuse, not for outcome: reports of losing money are published exactly like reports of making it. A moderator may mark a receipt verified after privately reviewing evidence; the evidence itself is never published.

Reports and takedowns

Any idea, receipt or comment can be reported with a reason. Reports are resolved by a moderator, and the resolution is recorded. Requests to remove content you own, or content about you, will get a response within a few days once accounts launch.
